Visuals 9/10
The cars look great as do the environments that are detailed and set the scene for chaos perfectly. It is gory, badass and in your face with weapons, cutscenes and vehicles. This is what Twisted Metal fans loved and this is what they get. Audio 8/10
The soundtrack is good and fits the tones of the game superbly. The voice acting is strong too, helping keep the world immersive and interesting. Gameplay 9/10
Blow stuff up. Blow some more stuff up. Watch a cutscene of stuff blowing up. The gameplay is surprisingly varied despite that being the core principles of Twisted Metal. A variety of weapons, cars and power ups in numerous stages keeps it fresh, fun and frantic from start to finish. Delivery 8/10
This is chaos at its best. Annihilation that only means fun. The single player campaign is fun and diverse but the multiplayer, with split screen and online options offers the bulk of entertainment. Summary 8.6/10
You can’t fault Twisted Metal from the viewpoint of being fun – it is engaging, bloody and chaotic. It is the multiplayer where this game shines though and although the singleplayer is enjoyable, it is not as memorable as the online experience. It only slips up on some weak storytelling but you are here for the carnage!
